We know that sometime when some of our customers are in a comfortable position in terms of the budget they have for a new lawn they will as for the best artificial grass in Loughborough - which we are confident we can provide. However, within our range there is no single grass which is THE BEST above all others. Our luxury range features several fake grasses which are the same price - the best one will be the best one for you.
A selection of artificial grasses come with a variety of different features. Some features will be more noticeable than others and some, may simply appeal more than others based on personal preference. Whichever artificial turf you decide to go with will come with our standard 10 year guarantee which covers both product and installation. That in itself is one of the best in the industry.
Features such as pile height and density will be good indicators of what synthetic grass will be good for you. To exaggerate the point - choosing a lush long, thick grass for your garden, which will not be ideal a contempaorary stunning looking garden, and would be totally unsuitable for playing a game of tennis on. Similarly for artifical grass for pet owners a long grass may not be the quite as easy to clean up after as a mid-height pile alternative, and therefore not the best artificial grass option for this scenario.
However, in comparing one artificial grass to another of similar height and density our high quality grass from Europe features additional performance enhancements such as UV protection which helps keep the grass cooler in hot weather and provide additional protection from sun fading. Many artificial grasses in the UK have been imported from China and most do not have such features as they have been designed to save on costs rather than focus on quality. Sometime to look at both side by side you would not be able yo tell the difference and therefore struggle to see why you should expect to pay more for something which looks very similar to something more expensive, however, replacing a whole artificial lawn is much more expensive than paying a few more pounds a square meter for a a quality product which comes with a guarantee.
As well as suppliers of premium artificial turf we are specialist fake grass installers in Loughborough or a variety of fake grass options. Fake grass continues to grow in popularity not only for residential customers wanting to replace their garden lawn with artificial turf but for business, sports clubs and educational establishments as they can all see benefits in being able to provide a low maintenance surface. One which is extremely versatile and can save time on one hand, whilst allowing much greater use of space on the other.
Whilst the most common artificial grass installation is still as a garden lawn alternative more of our installations are for businesses either for outdoor areas to encourage more utilisation from their staff or for business which have retail customers who want to provide a more pleasant outdoor environment. This is common for pubs, and cafe's who want to encourage customers to use outdoor tables and chairs but know that with a grass surface, which can get worn down to the soil through continued usage it becomes muddy and slippery after a bout of rain. This makes the area unpopular until fully dried out. Installing fake grass is much cheaper and aesthetically pleasing compared to tarmac or concrete alternatives and is generally much better for drainage.
You may be spoilt for choice for artificial grass companies in Loughborough and indeed Leicestershire. With so many to choose from which company do you go for?
Whilst it is always prudent to get at least two quotes there are several other factors you should consider as well as price. Clearly the grass itself should appeal and any half decent artificial grass supply and fit company sold have enough samples and options to show you to find one which you will like the look of. However, as mentioned it is relatively easy to have a number of synthetic grasses looking very similar but that does not mean that they will perform the same. If there is a noticeable difference in the price per square meter then ask the artificial grass company where their grass is manufactured from. If they don't know this should make you question what they know about the quality or if they care about the quality. Is the grass UV treated? If not, this could explain why it may be cheaper. Does it come with a 10 year guarantee? If not, this will be because the manufacturer does not think it will comfortably last this long with typical usage.
We are not a fly by night company and will stand by our 10 year guarantee - will other artificial grass companies in Leicestershire do the same?
Many people will want a full supply and fit services and we focus on providing this complete service. Unlike may suppliers who use far east imported synthetic grass ours come from within Europe using a manufacturer we have known and worked with for many years - as a result we fully understand best practices to achieve top results when installing and know that we are using a quality product helps. If you are an exceptional DIY enthusiast who simply must have a go at installing artificial grass yourselves, unfortunately you will need to source you grass from somewhere elsewhere. We won't proport to be the cheapest artificial grass but quite frankly as with most things in life you will get what you pay for when it comes to artificial grass supply.
Attention to detail regarding blade insertion into the rolled base, using recycled materials to make the grass, and including additional UV treatments all go towards installing a superior product, that comes with a 10 year guarantee.
However, if you are a conscientious a landscaper who has a discerning client wanting the best quality artificial grass for their lawn then please get in touch regarding becoming an artificial gass trade supplier.
Our Artificial Grass Installers in Loughborough have vast experience installing a range of synthetic grasses to a range of surfaces and from several m2 to hundreds of m2 areas.
Regardless of the size of the installation we will take the same care an attention to detail from the smallest of domestic installs to the largest of sports pitches. One of the most important parts to get right for an artificial grass installation it to take time with the customer to fully understand the brief and expectations.
Granted, most of the time customer simple say replace the lawn area with artificial turf but depending on the existing lay out there may be some opportunity to make some subtle, or in some cases, larger changes at the same time. Depending on the slope of your garden and the edging options it make be possible to take the slope out and provide a flat lawn. New edging may need to be laid to help contain the surrounding soil from encroaching onto your new artificial lawn to prevent weed growth starting on top of your artificial lawn. We want you to be ecstatic once we've finished our work - preparation is Key!
Understanding exactly what you want to achieve in your garden is very important but also offering up appropriate advice is also important too for long term enjoyment of your lawn. It is easy to simply say 'yes' to everything a customer wants but as specialist artificial grass fitters in Leicestershire we owe it to our customers to advise on any potential issues which may arise from a request which we know will lead to damage or maintenance issues further down the line.
This same principle applies to commercial installations too. It can be easy to pick a lush looking grass because your think it looks the best but if this is to be fitted on a heavy traffic area such as a terrace where you may be expecting customers to be standing around chatting and drinking for long periods of time day in, day out this type of grass will not look like the sample for long! As already mentioned, the grass you choice needs to be suitable for its intended use and we will guide on practicality and purpose over emotional preference when it is definitely not a good choice.
If we are putting or name and guarantee on an install we owe it to you and ourselves to provide excellent advice which will ensure and excellent installation of your artificial grass.
Whether you refer to synthetic grass as artificial grass or fake grass in Loughborough it will mean the same thing. Choosing the ideal fake grass for your school, garden, business or leisure ground project is made as simple as possible when dealing with Artificial Grass Loughborough.
Our range of grass doesn't come with exotic names to exaggerate features, we simply provide you with a small but comprehensive range of high quality grasses which will cater for virtually all sports, pets, children and lawn connoisseurs needs. The range of densities and pile heights we have at our disposal means we can cover every possible use and base - from soil to decking and concrete.
Whilst we may have provided you with an initial estimated quote prior to any work commencing we will survey the area to ensure that the estimated quote is your final price. If when during the survey we find that perhaps you overestimated some measurements and this effects how we can fit the grass and reduce waste then the price may come down, similarly the reverse may have happened and the price may need to go up to reflect this.
Either way, once we have conducted our survey your price will be fixed and for domestic customers nothing needs to be paid until the installation is complete and you sign off that your are completely satisfied.
We will have a good look at the surrounding area of your proposed new synthetic lawn to check the best way to edge off your lawn. If you have an existing wall or patio we can fit right up to those. The main decision comes around edging next to a flower bed. Ideally you don't want the flower bed soil to be higher than the level or artificial grass as inevitably following rain, weeding or even bird or animal activity soil can easily spread over the artificial lawn. Whilst this can be brushed off quite easily are hosed down if fine soil it simply creates another maintenance chore. The best and most common way to deal with this is to edge the artificial lawn with sleeper down the sides running along the flower beds.
For curved edges often a stone or block paving edge works well or alternatively plastic or wooden border edging can be used too.
Whilst some people will think that artificial grass fitters are similar to carpet fitters this is definitely not the case. Firstly, the type of ground to floor preparation required from indoors to out is very difference and drainage is never a considerations for an indoor floor fitter. In fact in many instances the feature of the floor not being able to absorb water is more likely to be a benefit to a home owner.
Part of our fitting process will also involve checking with you if there is anything you are at least aware of running under your lawn. Depending on how long you have lived in your property and what you have had done whilst there you would be surprised how many times we have come across wires or pipes running under a lawn.
Typically this would be an electric cable hidden under or sometimes along the edge of a lawn running from the house or an outdoor socket to a shed at the other end of the garden. We have also come across hose pipes buried under lawns to discreetly provide watering facilities to plants at the far end of a garden.
Once we have done our checks we will start to remove the top layer of turf and then the soil beneath it under we get to the desired depth.
We will then construct and lay down our frame for attaching the fake grass to which may vary from edge to edge depending on how each side is to be finished.
After the frame is in place we lay down, spread and flattening out our aggregate base. Once we are happy with that we will then add an additional layer of sand on top of that which will be flattened out to provide a very flat and even surface on which to lay the weed membrane. Again we take no shortcuts here ensuring that the membrane rolls overlap each other to provide comprehensive coverage. Where we have planned joints a jointing tape will be laid on top of the membrane.
Once the membrane and jointing tape is down with then position all our artificial grass rolls the same way to ensure the pile direction matches from one roll to the next and then roll out the grass. You only want to roll out the grass once to minimise disturbing the sand, membrane and jointing tape underneath.
We then use adhesive along the joint to provide a seamless connection. Again some installer may use pins which are prone to come out and do not provide as neat a joint - this is another shortcut to save on time and costs.
Finally we cut the grass and screw down all the edges of your artificial lawn for a secure fit and then brush up the pile which has been compacted by being storage in a roll to bring up the synthetic grass blades.
We can't stress the importance of doing this step well. Ground preparation when installing artificial grass is probably the area which differentiates a good artificial grass fitter from a poor one, in terms of 'invisible' quality.
Clearly, most people will look at the finished install of a new lawn and pay particular attention to the edging and to the joints and if a good job is done here i.e. it look s good then most customers will be very satisfied with the installation they have received. However, what an inspection like this does not reveal is how deep and what was used underneath the top layer of artificial turf.
If you want to ensure proper drained your sub-base should go down at least 10cm. This provides depth for water to run through from the top layer before reaching the soil, which will have a slower rate of water absorption. If this layer is too shallow then that top water will be help up by the soil and will result in puddling on top of your artificial grass.
Whilst we're not saying that this may never happen. With freak weather not being quite as freaky as it once was an exceptionally hard and long downpour may result in some puddling but this should be a very rare occurrence and as mentioned only associated with extreme weather conditions.
Hopefully you can appreciate that over a large are going down to half this level will save on a significant quantity of aggregate and whilst the aggregate itself may not be the most expensive of materials the excavation and removal of soil will take additional time and money to dispose of. Since this is an aspect of artificial grass installation, that is generally not scrutinised, you can see how some, less honest, installers can provide you with a cheaper quote. Ideally limestone aggregate will also provide additional acid neutralizing properties, which along with our neutralising weed membrane and proper sub base will mean that our installation will be of premium quality for dog owners.
When it comes to finalising an artificial grass installation we self inspect the whole area. We ensure that there is a flat fit to the base with no air pockets, lumps or rolls. We check along all edges to ensure a firm and discrete fix. We check along joints to again check for a firm and discrete fit. Once we have done this and are satisfied that we can comfortably put our 10 year guarantee to it we will then invite you to do the same.
We will also walk around the whole area to check everything has been left neat and tidy and if you wanted to keep any of the grass off-cuts these have been left in the place agreed, whilst smaller pieces are collected to be recycled. Only once you are completed happy with our work will we raise an invoice.
At Artificial Grass Loughborough we pride ourselves on the quality of our artificial grass fitting. Whether this is for relatively small garden or for several sports pitches we take the same amount of care and attention to detail for every artificial grass installation in Loughborough.
When we install replacement artificial turf for a garden lawn we ensure that there are no shortcuts in terms of preparing the ground beneath your new artificial grass as this is what will make one of the biggest difference between a well fitted fake lawn and poor one. Whilst the tacking down of the edges of a synthetic lawn are more visible than the ground beneath your grass when the rain comes and your artificial lawn becomes a paddling pool you will wish you had the appropriate installer who provided the necessary guarantees to ensure you have a well draining artificial lawn. For commercial installations we can liaise with other contractors to ensure a timely install and assist with sequencing to ensure another trade does not subsequently damage the 4G turf we have just installed.
When most people think about cost they will simply either think of the budget they have to have a new fake lawn or they will simply look at a fake grass cost per m2 to compare one synthetic grass to another or one fitters total installation cost to another. However, as I hope we have already pointed out - not all artificial grasses are the equal, even though they may look very similar, and the same thing can be said about installation. Whilst you may simply look at the installation costs of artificial grass you should really look at lifetime costs. For example when spending £2500 for a lawn that will last you well for 7 years vs spending £3200 for an artificial lawn which will last 14 years clearly the extra £700 will be money well spent.

We often get asked by customers, which is the best artificial grass you have? The other popular question is: which is your most popular fake grass? We do have a most popular one which has a pile height of 37mm and a pile weight of 3020gr/m2. However, whilst this is an excellent all rounder for gardens if you are looking to have your artificial turf installed onto a balcony, terrace or decking some short options would be much more suitable for heavier footfall and constant standing around on when placed on top of a hard substrate.
The key for us is discussing with you what is the best artificial grass for you - what will you be using it for, who will be using it, how often and what is it being fitted on to?
Selecting the best artificial grass once we know the answers to these questions will help us guide you for the best artificial grass which will stand up to the treatment you expect it to get, remain looking good and lasting for as long as possible.
We clearly are advocate of artificial grass and can talk about the benefits of artificial grass almost all day long however, whilst some customer may be adamant that they have done the research or have a friend of family member who has already sung its praises we also come across customers who are still a little undecided.
Typically these people with either have reservations on how real or fake the grass will look compared to real grass or the may feel that replacing a natural lawn is not necessarily the best thing from an environmental perspective.
For pet and in particular dog owners we have yet to come across a customer who has not felt the benefits of artificial grass over natural. for those with environmental concerns - our grass is made from recycled plastic and once fitted the savings on water usage and the use of chemicals and pesticides along with the power used to maintain a lawn there is a very strong long term environmental argument in favour of artificial grass,
Need Help?
No. But we can set up an artificial turf trade only account for other businesses wanting to stock or install artificial grass around Leicestershire.
We prefer to supply and fit so we can provide a full
guarantee on the product and workmanship. Our range of artificial grasses is very well made with high-performance characteristics throughout.
If you are unsure what artificial grass will be best for you, get in touch, and we can talk you through our range and arrange for a sample to be sent to you.
Absolutely.
There would be nothing worse than spending the time, effort, and money to end up with the wrong artificial grass for you and your family or business.
Whether you want the best grass for you, your pets, your children, employees, customers, or staff, we can provide the best advice once we ask a few simple questions regarding where it will be fitted on, how it will be used, and how often.
We will even advise on foam underlays for certain sports or play areas where some additional shock absorption is needed.
If we were to assume you chose our most popular artificial lawn turf then to fit that with a proper sub-base, top quality membrane and best fittings you would be looking at around £75 per m2 for an area of around 25-30 m2.
For larger areas over 100m2 the price per meter will come down assuming that the area is rectangular in shape.
Certainly we can.
Whilst home owners with very small balconies will ofter buy a small piece of cheap artificial grass themselves and simply place it on top of their existing balcony floor businesses are seeing artificial grass and a low maintenance colourful way to encourage use of large terraced areas. Whether this is a retailer such as a cafe or bar or a company utilsing a outdoor area for staff there clearly is a high duty of care to customers and staff and as a result we are often called to provide a professional fitting of artificial grass on commercial terrances.
Yes and No.
Some will and some won't. Cheaper imported artificial grass will not be manufactured with the same quality attributes in mind, in order to keep costs down.
Cheaper synthetic grasses are unlikely to be treated with a UV protective coating and if these are continually exposed to sunlight year after year they will begin to fade gradually.
All our our artificial grasses are protected so you can be confident that a fake grass installed by Artificial Grass Loughborough will stand the test of time as far as fading is concerned.
We would recommend that you do look after your artificial grass, after all it will be a reasonable investment so it makes sense to look after it.
Depending on where your artificial lawn is located it may be subjected to dirt and debris falling or blowing onto it. If you have a garden with many trees with branches overhanging your artificial lawn then in autumn you should brush up leaves and other debris which is on your lawn and dispose of it appropriately.
Whilst we use excellent weed membranes these are designed to prevent weeds from forming and growing up through from underneath the layer of artificial turf. However, if organic debris such as soil and leaves are left on top of your artificial lawn they will provide a base from which moss and algae can take hold along with seeds if they happen to land in the right spot.
This should be a very easy task with artificial grass and along with the occasional brushing against the pile direction of the grass will keep your lawn looking good and prevent it from flattening down.
No - not with our range of artificial grasses.
This is another example of the difference between our grasses and other cheaper alternatives.
Certainly many of you may have played on an astroturf sports pitch and noticed sand getting everywhere when you come to taking off your socks and trainers. The use of sand in 3G astro turf was used to extend the longevity of the artificial grass and for domestic installs this had a similar function. However, in residential garden installs finishing off with a sand layer can lead to a blocking of the drainage holes leading to water logging and pet urine staying on top ot the grass.
No sand required with our range of artificial grasses!
Artificial Grass Loughborough were extremely helpful, and patient, when it came to choosing the right artificial grass for us. As pet owners and parents we wanted a good all round synthetic grass for a south facing garden. Understanding the benefits of UV protection for both pets and children made choosing them and easy decision.

Really pleased with the advice and the finish or our new artificial lawn.
It looks fantastic and the thought of now putting our lawn mover on something like Ebay, or just giving it away is such a delightful thought.
Thank you.
